A new type of material can change from solid to liquid in response to an alternating magnetic field. The material has a wide range of potential uses, and its creators have demonstrated how it might be applied in electronic circuitry, drug delivery and for fastening objects in confined spaces. They even used it to make a Lego man capable of melting, breaking out of a prison cell and reforming in a dramatic scene reminiscent of the 1991 sci-fi classic Terminator 2.

To ensure our guests have the best experience possible, we have limited the number of visitors that can be in the Center at one time. All guests buying tickets online OR at the door will be required to make a reservation for an entry time.

When booking your ticket you will be asked to select a date and time for your arrival. This helps us make your experience more enjoyable by reducing queue times, speeding up your entry in to the attraction and reducing crowding. Once inside the attraction, you may stay as long as you like!

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds on admission tickets. If you cannot make the day you purchased your tickets for, we will be happy to switch it to another date. Leave us a message at BayArea@LEGOLANDDiscoveryCenter.com with your order/confirmation number and your new requested date & time and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Over the years, Traveller's Tales has shown that it knows how to tell exciting superhero stories using LEGOs. The studio has crafted games following Batman, the Justice League, DC supervillains, the entire Marvel lineup, and even the MCU. Each of these games were a treat to superhero fans, and Traveller's Tales' ability to make great LEGO games has only gotten better. Now, the studio is hard at work on the next LEGO game after LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga; and fans are waiting in anticipation.

The X-Men were absent from LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, and a spin-off game focused solely on the team could help alleviate that omission. The team is expansive, and the stories told with them are intriguing, and that leaves a lot of material for Traveller's Tales to work with. The studio has shown time and time again that it knows how to make a LEGO Game focused on superheroes, and it should be given the chance to tell a fantastic X-Men tale.

Your cookie art has so inspired me. Yesterday being Texas Independence Day, I attempted to make Texas flag and Texas map cookies. They were less than satisfactory. Question: what are some tips for getting the flood icing to blend seamlessly into the piped outline? Your cookies accomplish this beautifully. My outline icing was the consistency of toothpaste; flood was consistency of Elmer's glue. Should I have flooded immediately after I outlined each cookie? Also, I would love to see you do a set of Texas cookies that include the lone star flag and map. Love the blog.

Hi, i am new to your site and i LOVE IT. my little guy LOVES legos, but is not a big fan of cake. His birthday is coming up and i thought these would be perfect. Do you cut the shapes befor or after cooking?

This is a wonderful idea that I am planning on trying out for my Lego combo gift set! I was just wondering, and I am no cookie decorator so bear with me, how do you get the frosting on the cookie to be so smooth? Does that even make sense? the top of your cookies look uniform and not like what i expect a tip to produce.

Your cookies are again amazing! I love your site and automatically check here first before I make a cookie to see if you have done it before. You ALWAYS have some amazing trip to it! Thanks for sharing!

I give up. Yes I do have lego, BTW, but I prefer knex. I feel that there are more things that can be built with lego, but with knex, there are fewer pieces, which is a good thing, as there are so many lego pieces, folks are less likely to have the specific parts fro a model.

It would be great if you linked to the various pieces in bricklink (for the pieces that have a bricklink entry). It would make it much easier to see what other sets they have been in. Especially the heads since those can be difficult to guess the correct search terms for to find.

In 1989 for the launch of Lego Pirates theme, minifigures also included hooks for hands, as well as peg legs; this was the first departure from the traditional body parts. Starting with Lego Pirates in 1989 and spreading to Lego Town and Lego Castle in the next few years, minifigures were also produced with different facial expressions such as facial hair, eye patches, feminine makeup, and sunglasses.[4] Most of these early facial additions were still centered around the two eyes and smile, however starting in 1997 with Willa the Witch of the Fright Knights facial expressions became more complex including open mouths and detailed eyes.

The height of a typical minifigure is 4 centimetres (1.6 in). Minifigures generally feature six parts (widely referred to as tools in the toy industry): head, torso, hips, arms, hands, and legs; these six parts allow seven points of articulation: swivel head, swivel arms, swivel wrists, and swivel legs. Minifigures are usually packaged as three separate parts in Lego sets: head, torso and legs. The plastic is acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), a tough material that makes LEGO figures durable.[8]

Many fans, especially children, were amenable to this innovation. Others however, particularly adult collectors, found these figures contentious, considering them to be an unwelcome gimmick. The fact that in two cases unique characters were produced solely as L.U.L. minifigs, with no standard version available to collectors, was also an unpopular decision. Following the initial release of these figures Lego announced no more were to be produced, due to their unpopularity and more expensive production. One set, the 7261 Clone Turbo Tank, which featured an L.U.L. version of Jedi Knight Mace Windu, was even reissued with a standard version of the minifig and an extra Clone Trooper figure to make up the cost of the set.

I love this idea! If you can't afford to buy these, you can find legos at garage sales too. Hot Wheel cars and Legos are steals at garage sales compared to retail prices. Kids outgrow these and parents get tired of stepping on them ;) If you see other teen items for sale, ask the people if they have any legos they'd like to sell. It's something they don't always think about putting out to sell. Just clean them all in a big bucket with your favorite cleaner and you're good to go.

In the US, it's the type of cardboard that is placed in a picture frame. The frame might be 8 x 10 inches, but if the photo is smaller than that, they will have a piece of this mat board behind the glass, and it is 8 x 10 inches but with a smaller opening for the photo. Does that make sense? I didn't even know they sold whole sheets of it, but it worked well. It looks nicer than regular cardboard. I think any sturdy cardboard would work, though. Even a thin piece of wood would be okay.

Thanks fo posting this. I made three of these and they turned out great. I'm embarrassed to say we still have more minifigs left over to begin a fourth. I can't even imagine how much we and our family and friends have spent on legos for our kids over the years. I used poster board because I couldn't find a full sheet of matboard anywhere and it looks no different (and was a lot cheaper). i glued the poster board to the back of the frame for extra support (do this before you glue on the lego pieces). I used a picture hanger hook and mine doesn't wobble back and forth on the wall at all. Measuring and mapping out the layout takes the longest time but I made a "ruler" with markings for the spacing of the bricks with an extra piece of poster board so frames 2 and 3 were done in a fraction of the time. Thanks again and good luck everyone!

I have just made one of these frames. Sent the picture to a few friends and they are super jealous. I am really please with the end result. Thank you for taking the time to put it on the internet. Although i might have to make a couple more now HAHA

The makers of LEGO, the popular plastic toy bricks and plastic figures, have disavowed any knowledge of, or involvement with, the figure. Legoland Florida, a theme park, opened earlier this month in Winter Haven, Fla.

Well, once you've signed up (you need to be 18 or over), you essentially are in a frequent buyer's program. From there, with every purchase you make at LEGO, you earn points. These points can then be traded in for free LEGO sets. Again, you're having to spend money to get free LEGO sets eventually, but if you're going to be buying LEGO anyway, it just makes sense to sign up to their VIP program and get some rewards back.

Now that you've got all those free LEGO sets, you're going to want to make them stand out, right? Well, here at Lightailing we have just the things: our LEGO light kits. If you really want your freebies to shine, then using our kits is the best way to go. Having a freebie is fun, but when you're able to make your set even more unique? That's where the real rewards lie. 041b061a72
