I have been absent in my writing and realise that the last time I wrote a blog was October, 2023.
I am sure that not too many people have noticed.
Life gets busy and we get distracted and our priorities change. My distraction over the past 18 months is a very delightful grandson named Drazic. He has changed my world and I have already learned so much about what is important and quite literally I smell the roses with him.
He loves all the things that I love.
I have a beautiful opportunity to see life through his eyes.
I would have always said that I am not a patient person, but with him, I have all the time in the world to listen and play.
We explore the garden and the park for the perfect stick/sticks, which he always finds many uses for.
We spend lots of time at the beach. Sometimes just people and dog watching, We run and chase the ball over and over again. We build sand castles and then breaking them up. His love for everything outdoors gives me so much pleasure.
A trip to the park is a new adventure every time. Sometimes it is mastering a new skill, like going down the slide backwards and thinking it is halarious. He wants to repeat it over and over and over. He loves us all to get involved. We have to go down the slide after him and he always thinks this is halarious.
Hide and seek is also one of his favourite games and always delights in the surprise.
Another love that I have is cooking and he loves to eat. He will eat almost anything that nana lovingly cooks him. It is a perfect relationship that we have with food. I must admit that he is in a long line of family members who appreciate me spoiling them with good food.
As you can see I adore this little one and look forward to every one of our adventures together. Our tram rides, visits to the Botanic Garden, visits to numerous parks, The Melbourne zoo, The wildlife park in Ballarat that we visited as a family recently and recently we went to the lightshow at the gardens.
I will continue to relish in the opportunities to share life with him and never take for granted just how lucky I am.
I could talk and talk about him and now you know why I have been distracted in my spare time. When I am not working, going to the gym, travelling, charity walks, time with my beautiful daughters and Mario, musicals and shows,
going to the football, weekends away and numerous social events with family and friends.
I now want to get back to blogging. I will call my blog page
"65 AND STILL SHINING."
I want my blog title to follow on from my book
"GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO SHINE."
and not to forget to feel grateful for still shining.
At 65 I still have my health and fitness and I love my life. I want to share my adventures and positive things that I observe as I journey through my days. You may get sick of my full moons, my sunsets, my sunrises, my elephant stories, my travel stories etc, etc.
I hope that what I write about resinates with you and you enjoy my blogs.
I always want to live my best life and find balance.
LIFE IS NOT A RACE BUT A JOURNEY TO BE APPRECIATED FOR ALL IT'S GOOD, BAD AND CHALLENGING MOMENTS.
