I LOVE STRETCHING

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF STRETCHING?

At I love Balance I place a huge amount of importance on stretching. Over the past 30 years if you do yoga or pilates with me, any group fitness class, my personal training/ functional training private sessions always have stretching compondent during the classes and at the end of the class.


I always like to build heat into the body before I attempt any vigorous stretching.


Whether you walk, swim, cycle, run, box, circuit train or any other type of exercise, stretching is the key to prevent injury.


Stretching increases your range of motion, increases blood flow to the muscles and joints, helps to prevent a build up of lactic acid in the muscles.


Stretching also feels good and helps to keep your body in good posture and alignment. and there are many more reasons to stretch after exercise.
