YOGA DEVOTION BY THE OCEAN.

Have a look at what past participants have said:

This is from an amazing family of Mum and Dad and their 2 children.

"A-mazing Day of yoga, meditation and

delicious food with Wendy Anastasi and learning to surf with Mick Lowe at Yoga Devotion by the Ocean in Phillip Island! Thank you for such an awesome experience we all had such a fantastic day - Gratitude."

and this one:

"2021 for me is about facing fears and just going for whatever it has been that’s held me back from truly experiencing Mother Nature . Yesterday I faced a huge fear . I love the ocean but having been toppled over in the ocean when I was young I always avoided the open sea , avoided being anywhere near the waves . I thank 2020 for this push . After the lock downs I vowed to myself to never say no to anything that presents itself and any opportunities that I have been avoiding due to fear. So I embarked with my three gorgeous friends and an amazing group of people that held me up without probably realising . My adrenaline is still high today but I did it ! I’m grateful to Mother Earth and this almost 50 year old body that got me through an amazing day . Yes I surfed I got up and did it but for me this wasn’t the biggest challenge. My challenge was to actually immerse myself in the waves and just do it ! Thank you to Mick Lowe and Wendy Anastasi , Maria Handler and Connie your energies held me up and I know I’ll be back for more . How addictive is the ocean O my goodness ! I’m hooked "!

We have had so many testimonials. I will add just one more:

"What an amazing and fun day we had attending Yoga Devotion by the Ocean, at Phillip Island today!

A surfing lesson and a couple of hours in the water, followed by a healthy vegetarian lunch, then meditation and yoga.

We may have also snuck in a gelato on the Pier before heading home.

A huge Thank You to Wendy, Michael and Mario for putting on such a wonderful event!

Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something a little bit different to try".

Mick Lowe is our yoga guru for Yoga Devotion by the ocean. He is very patient and enthusiastic and will have you up on the board. You may ask why should I have a go at surfing.
Surfing definitely takes most people out of their comfort zones. We have had lots of people say to us "I don't know if I can do the surfing."
We say have a go and Mick is very experienced with children and adults and all levels of experience and fitness. He always puts safety first and always takes the conditions into account. There are so many benefits of surfing and you will really feel amazing.
Here are 10 health benefits of surfing:
  1. Cardiovascular and heart health: Surfing is a great cardiovascular exercise, using mostly upper body muscles to do the paddling work, and leg muscles to guide the board once you’re up and riding. Paddling out against the waves requires a lot of effort.

  2. Mental health: Physical exercise, especially something as fun as surfing, helps to offset the negative effects of stress.

  3. Vitamin D: The vitamin D you get from being out in the sun is essential for strong bones. Vitamin D also helps regulate the growth of skin cells.

  4. Better sleep: Numerous studies show that regular exercise, surfing included, increases the positive benefits that sleep brings. Sleep is important because it allows time for your muscles to repair themselves.

  5. Workout: Surfing strengthens the core and legs.

  6. Muscle strengthening: Paddling strengthens back and shoulder muscles, and you can get toned legs and a build a strong core.

  7. Improved balance: One of the best exercise benefits associated with surfing is the improvement that it creates in your balance.

  8. Increased flexibility: Surfing can also help to increase your flexibility, which not only helps you become a better surfer, but can also aid in the prevention of injuries both on and off the surfboard.

  9. Self gratification: Surfing is not the easiest sport to learn. It takes time, commitment and perseverance in order to progress. But once you commit and overcome this barrier, the rewards are huge.

  10. Stress relief. If you are experiencing a lot of stress at work or at home, surfing provides an avenue for you to release your stress for real. You can momentarily forget your problems while you’re way out there conquering those waves.

That is just the benefits of surfing. So many more benefits from Yoga devotion by the ocean with Yoga, yoga breathing and so much more.

A beautiful quote about being in Mother Nature:

The ocean stirs the heart,

inspires the imagination

and brings eternal joy to the soul.
