A massive week for me. After coming home on Friday night from the Great Ocean Road walk, it was time for a 21km walk for Victorian Cancer Council on Saturday night.
The Walking with the stars walk starts from the Kings Domain on St. Kilda Road and hugs the outskirts of the city through Southgate, Federation Square, Yarra Promenade, Docklands Park, past Marvel Stadium, MCG, AAMI Park, Shrine of Remembrance and back to Kings Domain. 21km in total.
The city was a treat on Saturday night and the weather was magic. The city has started to shine again and people are out and about again. We had a fantastic atmosphere and it was a great event.
We walked from 8.15pm to 12.30am and took in all the sights and decorations. Plenty to look at with the city a sea of red for AIDS week. The event has raised over $300,000 for cancer research.
There were over 1500 participants and we are hoping to bring hope for a cancer free future.
I was very grateful to spend the evening with my wonderful friend Deb.
A good friend is like a four-leaf clover
hard to find and lucky to have.
